Getting Organized Q and A

Q: We’ve recently purchased a ‘new to us’ home and have much we want to do. Any suggestions on getting organized?

A: The first steps to getting organized is building the list of things you want done. Include everything, and then tag each item as interior or exterior work, tag each as high-medium-low priority, and then flag anything you are not comfortable doing yourselves. If you decide to hire help for some items, having an organized list for them to work often makes then more efficient and is less costly for you.

For things you’ll be taking on, the cooler temps of fall are a great time to get the outside stuff done, and when it gets cold you can move inside. Work methodically, don’t try and do it all at once, and cross off completed items when complete. It’s very motivating to see the list get shorter.
